Life moves quickly—babies grow, children change, and before you realize it, the moments you swore you’d never forget become memories. These seasons, no matter how fleeting, deserve to be documented with intention. Your family session is more than just photographs; it’s a chance to pause, breathe, and celebrate the love and connection that make your story beautiful.
Family sessions have become one of my favorite things, born from couples who asked me to document their growing families
and I’ve been hooked ever since.
When you reach out through my contact page, you’ll receive a warm reply within 24 hours. From there, we’ll set up a time to connect—whether over the phone or through email—to talk about your vision, what makes your family unique, and the little details that matter most. This ensures our session is centered around your story from the very beginning.
To reserve your session, I’ll send along a personalized proposal and a deposit will secure your date on my calendar. You’ll also receive my thoughtfully curated Portrait Guide, filled with tips and inspiration to make planning effortless. From selecting the perfect location to choosing wardrobe pieces that reflect your style, I’ll guide you every step of the way.
After our session, I’ll help transform your images into heirloom-quality art for your home—whether that’s a handcrafted album, framed wall portraits, or prints for loved ones. Because your family’s memories deserve more than a screen—they deserve to be cherished for generations to come.
I understand how quickly life moves, which is why I’ve designed a photography experience that feels effortless and meaningful.
Session fees vary by your location, but on average, a fee begins at $550. After the initial fee, collections are available for purchase.
Upon inquiry, we'll schedule a call to help find the best season and location for your family.
Always blown away! I found Michelle two years ago on social media and have been using her ever since for all my photography needs. She is easy, fun to work with and makes the whole process a joy! Michelle always seems to capture the perfect shot and I'm always blown away with her work!
The Gillingham Family
What happens if it rains?
No one wants to look like a wet dog in their photos so if it looks like it's going to rain, snow, hail or even high winds or some other weather catastrophe, we'll be in touch via email or phone to reschedule. Typically if its more than a 30% chance at the time of our session I'll make the call to reschedule the morning of by 9am. If the ground is saturated from the night prior and it seems to wet than I'll also reschedule. Who really wants to get muddy anyway?
What should we wear?
If picking out outfits for photos takes you back I always suggest neutral tones, I like to avoid busy patterns, bright colors or bold plaids. These photos are about capturing you and your family connection and not to be distracted by the attire.
We put together an extensive outfit suggestion guide with tips for every member of the family!
How far in advance should we book?
The sooner the better! Typically I shoot portraits on weekday evenings only! I do make some special exceptions. Our weekends tend to fill up pretty quickly - due to wedding season and I choose to spend my time on the field with my daughter during her travel ball season in the spring and fall, so the sooner you reach out to me the better!
To reserve your date, we'll need a contract as well as a deposit to ensure you are locked on my calendar!
What if we're awkward and my kids don't sit still?
Unless you've modeled professionally, you're probably going to feel awkward in front of the camera. Heck, we take photos for a living and I even feel like a deer in the headlights when in front of the camera.
You're going to feel awkward at first, but as the session goes on I promise I wont leave you hanging! I will coach you through images, we think you'll find that being photographed can actually be fun. And don't worry about your kids. I'm well prepared in capturing even the busiest of little ones.
